A 10% price increase from March to May 1979, and the June price came over 20.000 Pounds. Only five years before, in 1974, the 10.000 Pounds mark had been taken. The sales figures did exactly the opposite: they dropped from 243 to 129.

We start with the price list for March 28th, 1979 (Publication No. 3190/M). | ||
All price lists still have two pages on each side, and are folded once. On one side is the Supercover page and the front page. The other side has the page for the Saloon models and the Limousine page. We show the latter ones for a few month together. |
The next one is for May 8th, publication No. 3190/N. |

1979 obviously was a year with a very high inflation rate. The price of the limousine was now 6000 GB£ higher than it was a year before. And two more large increments were to follow before the year ended. This price list from 18th June 1979 has publication number 3190/O |
|
Next is October 1979, publication No. 3190/P. The June price list offered a choice of optional laminated glass and optional tinted glass. The laminated glass has now been deleted.

Also in October 1979, a full range price list was printed for the 52nd Scottish Motor Show (publication No. 3413/D). It covered Austin (incl. taxi and hire car), Morris, Rover, Triumph, MG, Jaguar and Daimler. The format of this price list is a harmonica of 6 pages on each side.
The limousine info is exactly the same as in the separate October
price list shown above.
If you click on the small pages, they will show up enlarged, and hopefully
readable.
This December 1979 price list, publication No. 3190/Q,
Between June and December the prices went up 15%. |
