1984: Jaguar left the BLMC holding, becoming an independent company again (until 1989).

My collection has two price lists for 1984: one from the 21st May 1984 (publication No. 17/11 (57256)) and one from the 15th October 1984 (publication No. 17/11 (59088)). Both price lists cover the Jaguar Saloons, Jaguar XJS, Daimler Saloon and the Daimler Limousine. The pages for the Saloons and the XJS are virtually identical in both lists, except that the May version contains the extra phrase "1984 Model Year Specification" at a few places. But: the Limousine prices show a price increase of approx. 7.5% both for the basic car and the list of options.

Apart from the price increase. the list of Limousine options of October has two more choices: Non standard paint colours and Duo-tone paint colours. These two have been on and off the price lists almost since the beginning.

Every price list has three pages on each side, and is folded twice. On one side is, from left to right, the "Daimler Saloon" page, the "Guarantee" page, and the front page. The other side has a page for the Jaguar Saloon, a page for the Jaguar XJS, and the Limousine page.
