This manual AKM9135 Ed.4 (1990) is the 4th and latest edition of the latest Service Manual for the DS420. The older 1st edition of this AKM9135 manual (1985) is shown here.
For still earlier cars you may consult earlier service manuals, such as AKM3978 (1977) or E1021/1 (1968 est.).

Between the 1st and the 4th edition, "revision sets" of pages were distributed. Therefore many pages in this manual show at their bottom the text Ed 2, Ed 3, or Ed 4, In total, around 55 pages (of 400) were changed since the first edition.

The most important changes are the totally revised 1989 steering column (chapter 57) and many updates to the electrical system.

The 4th edition got an integrated wiring diagram with list of keys. However, this is printed on a triple-size fold-out page. Therefore it advised to consult the separate wiring diagram page of this web site, where this same diagram is presented in a much more accessible format.

To the right we show the cover of this 4th revision manual, which is supplied in a new model Jaguar binder, with plastic flaps and an iron back. The back has a small insert with a separate piece of paper identifying the specific manual. This insert-label is also shown.

This 4th Edition manual is included on the Unipart/JDHT CD-ROM described elsewhere on this web site.

This manual was printed on paper of a fairly good quality, and has extremely small print at several places. Therefore the individual pages are provided in medium and in large size, but both will be substantially bigger than the pages are on other places on this web site, because they require more dots per inch to stay readable on a display. Especially the large pages may be difficult to handle on low resolution displays.

The following table of contents follows the sequence of pages in the manual. Because the individual page-files are big, and thus require much download time, the table of contents has been made especially detailed.
Every chapter consists of a handful to a few dozen pages, numbered consecutively. But the chapter numbers themselves are not consecutive, so the list given here below really covers the entire manual, even though it suggests the contrary.
