Strange enough the inlay with the gear settings in the cowl above the steering column shows '... N D 2 1' which belongs to the specifications of the Borg Warner 12 gearbox. But in 1970 the cars had a Borg Warner 8 gearbox, with settings in the cowl reading '... N D2 D1 L'
