The previous page in this manual explained that the engines for the DS420 have a /9 following the motor number to denote the compression ratio 9:1.

The next edition of the manual talks about three different compresssion ratios (Low (L), Standard (S) and High (H)), and the edition thereafter only has the High (H) compression motor left.
