Andrew Gutowski, from Barnstable, Ma,USA, owns these fine examples of DS420 hearse and limousine. The following story tells how he fell in love with the model:

As a frequent visitor to the UK, I often follow the comings and goings of the Royal Family. Back in 1997, I arrived at Buckingham Palace to find there was to be no changing of the guard. Despondent and about to walk away, I looked up to see a fleet beautiful limousines entering Buckingham Palace. Now, I wasn't going anywhere.

Limousines have always been my passion in America, but these motorcars where a whole new ball game. After waiting about an hour, through the gates came four of these beautiful limousines. After finding out their destination, I hopped on the underground to the Tower of London and the Thames River where the Royal Britannia was floating. Soon she would be decommissioned and a luncheon celebration was taking place.

I missed the arrival of the Royals, but chose to wait for them to come ashore. Three hours later, they arrived at the terminal to their awaiting limousines. I happened to be standing against the barricade with a royal historian who explained in detail the Royal Family and the Royal Motorcars while thousands of well wishers descended upon the area behind me.

First came Prince Charles, who I was fortunate enough to shake hands with and wish a Happy Birthday as he got into his green Bentley. Then came Her Majesty, the Queen, who walked right by me and entered her most elegant Rolls Royce Phantom V. Behind the Phantom was the beautiful Daimler DS420 limousine, An elegant automobile that seemed to ride on a cloud. The remainder of the Royal party piled in and off they went.

It was at this point that I said to myself, one day I will own these motorcars. Now, my dream has come true, and I thoroughly enjoy driving them all around Cape Cod Massachusetts.
