This is the most characteristic picture of all: seen from within the rear right wheel arch, looking forward. The clamp is on the outer body panel. The tyre is detached; lying flat on the ground. Above the tyre is the jacking point; it used to go all the way to the right side of the picture. The rotten cover on the sill is from an earlier restoration.

They all get (almost) this bad when they are 35 years old
